EQlive client compatible server source (and binaries)

We still need some opcodes and a few structs still need to be updated, but here is the source and the Win32 binaries for the 5.3DR2 (eqlive version).

np, if you get an error message of:

'Your server has exceeded a number of players and/or zone limit.'

just redownload the link, there was an issue with the original world in the zip file.

Tharamil, why did you patch then? Keep seperate directories for eqlive and eqemu, and only update the emu dir if a patch proves to be compatible with the latest eqemu server.

Run eqgame.exe with the 'patchme' option to skip the patch process.

(right click shortcut to eqgame.exe and add patch me after the target)

Read the guide to playing on a server since all you want to do is play. Its found on the left side of the main screen, (click on guides) the click play guide.

yea ok i know how to play ive been using that method for a couple of months..........only recently just been getting the 1018 message about having to re-run patch or something - just wanted to know if i added these new files into my emu DB if it would clear it up

Yes, please shoot me im retarded. Ok I read what matt said to do, from the guide section. I know that I had to do that to play eqemu. Well I just tried to log on, got to server selection and picked brightblade and misc other servers and all I got was kicked back to username entry then I entered info again and got the 1017 message....fux me in the ear...Please explain or PM me how to fix this.

cheerman read the guides, there is 1 for playing and 1 for hosting, all you need to know for both are there, and if your realy lost READ the forums, the questions you are asking have been answered a couple hundred times since i have been here.

thats right you cant find info about downloading files in the play guide because you dont need to DL anything. just stop over thinking and read the play guide then follow it.

it hasnt even been a day yet, calm down befor you annoy a Dev and get banned.


It use to take months not days, so be patient and give the server ownes some time to do the updating, it is the holidays after all and they do diserver some time with there loved ones.

If you dont like the way people spend there time and $ to alow you to play for free, you can always start your own server and spend 40+ hours a week doing upkeep and hearing people complain your not working fast enough.

I agree with Veto. Besides, if you can't find a server that fits your current patch learn some programming skills and start making your own release. Read up on the forum, it says not to patch without making a backup unless you're told you can patch, then look for the server that on the side has (for this release) [5.3 DR2]/ It's not really that hard.

If there arn't any servers up, and you wanna play sooo badly, go run your own f***ing server. It's all easy if you will read the forum and guides.

Lucky me, and majority of my friends who live around me who play EQemu..One of my friends hosted a lan party and did not update the patch for reg eq, and we were all able to gank the files and make backups. *yay* Praise <Insert Your God Here>

I tried the first link (at the beginning of the thread) there's source, but it wont compile, doesnt seem to be a makefile.
