Error 1017 or something.

Why when I click play on the server select screen,I get a error message that says 'cannot connect to the everquest server'...WTF does that mean?

1017 is a wrong version error. If you are patched to current, you must play on a 5.3DR2 or later version of server. If you are doing just that and still receive the error, post more information.

Please give us real error messages or something with which to work. I can't read your screen, especially in the past. Also, please post in the correct forum.

i am getting the same error. i followed the posthere (http://www.everquestserver.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9649) but i had no luck. I followed this letter by letter.

Some info that might help... i am patched from eq live to current as of today 12\31\03.
I changed the eqhost.txt file properly, also created icon with the patchme target edit.

It does not seem to matter what ver of the server i try and log into i always get a 1017 error. If someone could lend a hand i would be greatfull. If someone could help i would be very greatfull.

i had the same problem and i think you need the 12/18/03 patch but im not sure... i get the problem but havn't updated since november.. i can only not play on 5.3 db2 servers
