Hi,
Are there any classic Everquest databases? I'm looking for a database that populates the classic EQ zones and maybe Velious. Also, it would be great if the database was based off of the old classic EQ database and not just a version of the current EQ Live with only population of the classic zones. For example: In classic EQ the Splitpaw Lair was inhabbited by the Splitpaw Gnolls. then after the Luclin expansion hte Splitpaw Gnolls were removed and replaced with the Verishe Mal clan. I'd love to see the original Splitpaw Gnolls back. I can't help it I'm a fan of the old days. I miss the poor Splitpaw Gnolls. :)

Finally, there are two other things I'd like to know about. If there are any classic EQ databases out there do they have A) Fixed zone lines so players dont fall from the sky or end up in the middle or opposite end of the next zone, and B) Do they have propper movement of the mobs in the zones?

If you have any info on such a database, plesae let me know.

Thanks
John

Even though I don't have proof it's certain to say that there are none.

Current DBs are populated using the data from the live servers (you can't do them memory after all or make them up). Since there's no classic live server, it's not possible to collect data from it.

If you still have a list of all classic zone with all mobs, their position, loot, etc... go ahead and make a DB, but I'm sure you don't. ;)
Recreating Split Paw might be doable, though time consuming. Recreating the whole classic world could be possible (lots of research neccessary, probably a few old websites still around), but it's definately not worth the effort.

Hmmm lets see. I may just have the old information. I madea printout (over 300 pages I think) of the EQ Atlas site and kept it in a HUGE binder. I'll look into it. I had a feeling that the original EQ might be hard because there is no way to gather that info. If I had more experience in creating databases for EQEmu, I might have tried asking around sites like EQ Atlas to see if they have any of the old data stored away. I hope someone does manage to find the proper information and create an original Classic EQ style database. If no one comes out with one, then I may look to just create a custom database based on what I remember from playing EQ during its opening month, but that database would obviously not be classic EQ, it would be just my view and adaptation of EQ.

I can't remember if drawde's was based on the clasic EQ data or not. I think the data for a lot of it is still out there, BUT I don't think any of the DB that might have it are updated for EQEmu 5+ And they may not be complete/polished

Blood,
Nice suggestion, but unfortunately its not that easy. Stuff like mob placement, etc... was and is stored on the server not the client CDs that we buy. So when they changed Splitpaw for example, all that orginal mob placement, mob stats, loot tables, etc... are gone unless a fan website archived that old info. On the classic client that info simply isn't stored there. :(
