View Full Version : Screwed up MoBs

I run my own server, and I used Myra's 0.53alpha database thinger. Was a clean DB to start. Merged the one included in SEQ, merged Myra's, merged the GoD zone headers so I could mess around with them.
Here's my issue.
Planes of Power mobs are stupidly weak. I mean, people are soloing in PoTime with no access to #heal or #invul. Purely #summoned gear and level 30. I kid you not. Level 30s soloing PoTime.
Then, on the flipside, recondite bandits in Paludal are trippling 200s.
What would cause this exactly?
I don't really have a large desire to redo my entire database from scratch, I've made a lot of mods to some zones and nerfed a lot of overpowered items (ie Big Soul Devourer)

Read the post on the MW database about mobs hitting for 400, and used the average and update per level method, so that should help with the powerhouse noob mobs, but what about the pansy-assed PoP ones?

Nice move. I'm going to talk to Myra about the problem so she can get it corrected.

Okay, so noobs on my server are having no troubles now. Problem is I got level 55 warriors soloing ToV.
a) Mobs aren't KoS, that's a faction issue I presume?
b) NToV named are hitting for 150 max, Ssra mobs are total pushovers
Not sure what to do. Do I set all mobs level 65+ to hit for large doses? Do I got mob-by-mob and guesstemate what they should hit for?
IIRC, NToV mobs tend to be dark blue or yellow to 65s, and they hit as hard as some PoP mobs that are yellow-red.
Or should I just wait for a new DB release?
I'm trying to eventually have a legit server with my own rulesets and zone setups, but right now my whole time is devoted singly to nerfing items and trying to un-nerf pansy mobs :(

*bump* Anyone know a good DB update or formula for high end mobs?
Sleeper's Tomb mobs have, on average, 5khp and hit for 100s, if that.
I killed Kerafyrm in about 45 seconds solo, PoP is a joke, had level 30 people soloing pretty much anywhere (granted, they had heal potions at the time, but since the nerf, they're just duoing with a healer and getting the same result)
If the answer's no, just lemme know and I can try and guess everything. I'm not a noob to SQL, but I am at a loss as to what to set values for on HP, attack, etc on mobs, as I've never sat and recorded their values on EQLive

well, being a noob or not in sql isnt the real problem. The problem is : what do you want to do to fix this and what result do you expect ?
if you want higher lvl mobs, they ll have more hp, hit more.
this could be done in 1 mysql query for all the mobs of a zone.
For the big named ones you want to upgrade, use eqadmin or spawn editor.
Say what result you need, and people (or me if i m around) will certainly write you the sql queries.

Sorry, thought I'd explained it in the first post. Guess I hadn't :P
The issue is, any zone level 45+ is entirely too weak. Every mob. It's not a case of levels, I don't think, though I will double-check, it's a case that mobs have entirely too few HP, hit too weakly, etc.
Meaning their maxhit and hp columns are either set to some generic standard, or it's purely based on the level calculation.
For example: dark blue PoFire mobs should be hitting for, what, 500s at least. I know I quad there sometimes and if they catch me I'm usually toast in 2 seconds with 2.7khp self-buffed. Meanwhile when I first opened the server (and had no zone restrictions up) I had level 45s soloing there melee-style.
I need to beef up HP and MaxHit on pretty much every PoP mob, named or trash.
Also wondering, on a sidenote, how well I can control a mob's spells. Say I'm working on Solusek Ro. If I just set him able to cast his AE Rain spell, he'll probably pretty much chain-cast it. Can I set him to cast it every 45 seconds?
