So many people keep asking for the newest precompiled binaries, so I am going to post the link for it here.


This is for all the people who must have a server now and cant wait for the next supported version, and keep asking for these.


this is a quote from the DL page

4. NO SUPPORT WHAT SO EVER. If you do not know how to compile programs yourself or fix code, you have no reason to be using this. even though there is a pre-compiled version included

What this means is anyone using this version should NOT expect / demand support, posted support questions can be ignored.

Rember this is 100% UNSUPORTED, people have been Downloading this off of direct links and have not been seeing the terms of use maby this way people will see it.

O ta And I have a very big queston! how do I set EQ up for this. Do I just download something and run the downloaded program? Or do I have to edit something? Becouse I not good at doing that well I cant say that becouse I have only did it 2 time and bouth time it workd but there was not much to do. But thanks and have a good day.

You can't be seriously asking for support replying to the "newest binary" thread DIRECTLY after they say "there is no support for this". Are you trying to get flamed?

I really wish people would proofread their posts before they clicked submit... much more importantly, I wish people would think before they posted anything at all. Oh yeah, and reading rules is an awesome trait as well... why is it so rare?

yep DR3 just packed up.. dont forget the new SQL... if u get duplicate errors on some of them it's ok, ignore it..

matt, you still updateing it or? clicked the link and it still points to the release on1-12-2004 and it's the dr2 version.

sorry just really amped that maybe the zone_id=0 error might be fixed and can move forward ..8)

Whats going with server? telling me bad username or password or something along those lines. Played it fine yesterday and then suddenly couldn't log into Neriak with a new char I created.
Anyways im not whinging, just reporting :)

Right now it's just another link to the source. Lacking a compiler, I was really looking forward to downloading the binaries to finally set up my EqEmu server, but looks like I'll have to wait some more, because anything less than 0.5.5 doesn't work with the latest patch.

Exactly and not only that the link there right now is only for the source and not the binaries, the name of this thread needs to be changed, it gives people the wrong idea and this source link has already been posted numerous times.

I agree completely, Lets call it beta testing the new binaries to help find the bugs, we submit the bugs and then get updated binaries later down the line. This is just something to get our servers up :)

You need the newest binaries or you'll just end up setting up a server that nobody can log into. You need the 5.5 binaries. anything less and you're catering to maybe 20 people total who have an older version.

Look at all those people logged on 5.3 servers, how do you think they do ?
And those people still on the 5.2 version. They did not patch accidentally.

EQEMu's happy client rule #1 : read the forums before you patch.

If you get the binaries, then you won't need that stuff. I have the binaries now that were compiled from that source, but it crashes world.exe every time you make a character.

Were do i get the older source releases? Go to http://www.eqemulator.net (http://www.eqemulator.net) and look on the left side. Click on files and then scroll down. You should see a list of archived EQEMu servers.....

Only way to log on the DR3:

1. setup your own minilogin server
2. have the eqmain.dll from pre may 18th 2004 patch
3. have eqhost.txt using the old style pointing to your minilogin server.

Hmm... 0.5.6 I had. Where is the 0.5.7? And what DR is needed for it? My server is up and running.....just need the right version in order to play.

5.7 isn't done yet.. That's why there are no binaries for it and the 5.7 versions are DR which means they are developer releases and not 100pct ready for public consumption. Developer releases are a use at your own risk kinda thing because they aren't finals. If you read through the tutorials there have been a couple which list downloads for binary versions of the developer releases, just read the how tos.
