I recently ran a server using MiniLogin and had my friend connect to my server. By the way, I am using 0.5.3-DR3 from http://shawn319.eqemulator.net/cvs. Anway, friend logged in and got into the world with no problems. However, when I did a /who all it only showed me in the list. I also couldn't /tell or /reply to him. When I went to the same zone he was in, I could do a /who and he would show up. Sometimes when I did /who all nothing would happen. Another problem we had was when we grouped. If one of us zoned, then the second guy would be disbanded from the group. The first guy would still be in a group and see the other guy in his group. I didn't see these problems posted by other people so I'm just wondering if the version of the source files I've got might be missing a few things, or maybe these things weren't working in the first place? I'm going to take a closer look at the code today after work and see if I can see what's happening. Thanks!

that code is a month or two old. there have been numerous things worked on since ( groups are working now ).
either wait for a new release or find an interim release available here on the forums.

The version I'm working with is 2 days old. It's from Shawn's CVS release page which is dated 1/24/2004. Which file(s) are we talking about here/ I'm talking about .cpp files. Maybe those are dated a month ago.

#1 hose ARE the newest binaries
#2 This is a Developer reliese so things get broke, things dont work, they know this thats why it isnt an official reliese.
#3 Those binaries are 100% unsupported because of the Developer status of them.
#4 MiniLogin itself is buggy, things dont work on it, things are funky with it, there isnt anyone activly working on fixxing it up because it is 100% unsupported since it wasnt created by Devs....
Things will get fixed and new things will break in every DR that comes out, just got to be patient. they will offer support once they Officialy releise a version that isnt all buggy.

No problem, I can live with that. I will try logging into my server through eqmu and see if that stuff works. Thanks.

I am not sure wether its a minilogin issue of an EQEmu issue, if its minilogin it may never work again, if its an Emu issue it will get fixed.

Yeah I wouldn't think it was a MiniLogin problem. Doesn't MiniLogin just handle logging in? My friend logged in with no problems. Though I did notice that when I log in it says something like
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx matched user 'eqemu'
in the MiniLogin window.
When he logs in it doesn't display anything (even though I've got him set up in the MiniLoginAccounts.ini file), but he still can get into the world, so maybe that's where the problem lies. Maybe since he's not getting properly authorized, when I /tell him, the world doesn't see him as a valid client. Same as with /who all.

Just to let you know I got it working. The problem was that I wasn't getting the
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx matched as <user.
message in MiniLogin.
The reason is because I needed to add a dummy account to the end of MiniLoginAccounts.ini. Once I did that it matched his ip up and now /tell, /reply, /who all and group stuff is working great.
