new to EQEMU, care to answer?

HI, I have not even started to run EQEMU but before I do I have some questions.

1) do you have to make your own server? Or can you join others?
2) If you can join others, can you still make yourself whatever level you want and what gear you want? If so do you just do something like (in the regular chat channel #itemsummon centilongsword)

I looked in the guides but didin't see anything about some of the basic basic questions. If anyone has a link to a place that can help I'd be very thankful. Thanks.

As far as commands go, when you log into any server, just type #help and it will show you all the commands available to you. Some have more than others, as smogo pointed out. Good luck, and have fun. :)

There is no server where people are "not nice" and just have top GM power and kill you for fun in they want? What about be the best server to go into for someone who wants to have the power to edit levels and armor but not have to wrry about people killing you all the time.

'guess you should give a try, read the forums (the "Server comments" to get the general feeling) to select a server.
However, setting up a server is a commitment, as it task mucn time to run and set up a word; i bet Server OPs and GMs give a close look at what's happening, and PKs don't have fun long.
