Can any one verify for me that the login servers are working ok?

I was logging in fine last night while my server was up and down while I was doing some zone point corrections in my Database but I get home from work today ready to knock out another zone and I can't log in with either my server or as a player.

Thanks.

Just logged in to Scorpius2K to check and it is fine. Of course if you patched to live today you are screwed as there was a big patch.

No I didn't, I know better =)

Thanks for checking.

I wonder what the heck is going on I made no changes to my LoginServer.ini nor anything on my player machine.

I have it trying on all three login servers *shrug*

Thanks again.

Very strange I tried again and was able to login as a player.

I remade my LoginServer.ini and I can now login.

And how many posts have there been in these forums by devs and users stating that you make a backup of your EQ directory for EQEmu use? You never play from the same dir for both uses. As has been stated in other threads today, it will catch up to live when it's done.

Well then fucking wait! You don't backup, then every major patch the Emu is broken and people who don't backup need to wait until the Dev team fixes it. You backup, you don't have this problem.

Seriously, if you don't want to 'waste' the space in keeping a backup for Emu use only, you probably shouldn't be playing. Otherwise you'll just end up being frustrated when the sony patches break the Emu on a regular basis.

So quit your bitching and play live. It's just the way it works. Deal with it.

Lots of people here no longer have an EQLive account, so people (including me) can't log into EQLive.

That is why I use EQEmu.

well i dont feel like wasting to much Diskspace since i dont have a ton of it so i dont want 2 fucking Dirs with the same fucking game! Well, Im sorry but this isnt an excuse. Im not here to flame you for saying this as it IS a free country (mostly). But there ARE other ways to backup Eq without using up hard drive space.. You cant tell me with the low cost nowadays, that you dont have access to a cd burner of some sort... Well, just take a cd-rw and burn a copy of the newest version of eq that you KNOW works. Then when you patch again, like on the 10th, when you find that it breaks the emu, just delete taht directory and pull out your handy dandy cd-rw and write it back to hard drive and there you go.. Now when you find that a patch IS working and you READ the forums and find it safe, patch, and re-write that version to your cd-rw.

I dont think the problem we have on this board is due to illiteracy, most people are probably very smart in their own right. It is due to sheer laziness.. Let me repeat that... Laziness......! The saying goes, "No pain, no gain". and while there is no actual physical pain, you might have a headache from using your head once in a while...
