MySQL is a database program that if you wanted to run your own server here at EQEmu you would have to have it installed... It Holds all the data that is needed for EQ to be able to work. It, of course can be used for many other things that deal with lots of data, just like microsoft access and SQL server and so on....
Your problem is just what Monrezz said, browser issue. I like to use Opera, I NEVER have browser issues using this program. Might try and check it out at http://www.opera.com (http://www.opera.com)

There is nothing wrong with your browser ... that site has problems with their DB
Warning: Too many connections in /home/www/web7/html/links/admin/connect.php on line 4
Warning: MySQL Connection Failed: Too many connections in /home/www/web7/html/links/admin/connect.php on line 4
Could not connect.
The site admins need to fix this, there is nothing wrong at your end.

I would download Java version, since IE doesnt come with JVM anyhow, if you DO decide to use IE again, it will have it installed... :)
