Tried logging in quite few times, get past charcter select then it sets at the black screen JUST before you have control of your charcter. Seems hit or miss at times, but id say 9 times out of 10 i'm not gonna make it all the way in. Just wanted to ask and see if it's me or the Emu in its currnet state.

The only thing i havent tried is DX9 sice i'm not sure how it will affect the rest of my games.

This is on Shawns LIVE server btw.

Dialup works just fine if you are just playing on servers, so you have another issue (probably the dx9 thing). Try and install that... Should have NO effect on your other games, as it is backwards compatible..

I installed dx9 seems to help a little, but ive noticed if i log in with 800x600 with EQW AND alt tab to something else while my charcter goes in, i always get in. I've tried it without alt tabbing and fail to get in alot of the times.

Sounds crazy i guess, but seems to work.

Dialup does not work fine. Me and my friends all installed EQ the same way at the same time. Clean install from CDs (all expansions) and then fully patched up and I got Directx 9 and newest drivers for everything. My friends are on a DSL and I am on a 56K, they get in everytime, I do not get in everytime. Seems like the more people there is on that server the harder it is for me to log in there. I got into some other less populated server, played there fine for 40 minutes and then after I got killed by a wolf it said I got disconnected from the game, my friends did not get disconnected. I have to say that people who are on dialup will experience more problems than those who are on broadband, even though EQ system requirements do say that EQ works with anything that is 28.8 and higher.
