hello. im trying to get onto the Winters Roar server, but it keeps giving me a 1017 error message. i have repatched everything and downloaded DirectX 9.0b. whats wrong? some help would be appreciated

Check winter's (http://wintersroar.com/index.html) site and howto. This is a bit of a special server. You'll need the WRFiles. This might be the reason for 1017, if you don't get it on any other server.

BTW, Winter's Roar is still 0.5.3dr3, so if you are with the latest patches, you can't play. Try 0.5.5 servers.
