Need help with server

Ok the 1017 error is starting to bug me I have used search and tryed a bunch of different things and none have worked. My server is up its unlocked (and yes my firewall is truned off) I am on a cable connection but everytime I try to login to my server it gives my the error 1017 may need to re-run patch bla bla bla... I dont know what else to try. I am usen windows XP. Would usen windows 98 make a difference at all? :( plz plz help me

What version of emu are you running? Are you using a router? Have you recently created this account with EQEMu? Is your password too short?
You should post your world.exe and zone.exe when you get this error, sometimes it will give you the answer and you may not know it.
