Hey, was able to log in for the first time earlier today (assuming because the server is now running on 5.5) and played for quite some time. Now, I cannot log in, getting the 'you may need to patch error.' Anyone have suggestions? Thanks in advance

The server has been having some lag issues as Scorp works on getting the combined packets stuff to work properly with perl quests. Bexause of this sometimes when you connect the connection will time out and it'll give you a 1017 error. Usually if you jsut try again a couple times it'll get through.

I was gonna post a new thread for this, but the title here seems appropriate :)

A while back I created a Barbarian Warrior on Scorpius2K (named Jabber) and, thanks to a level 130 Ogre, managed to deck him out with a pair of Scorpius2K greaves, breastplate, and sword (piercing!! WTF?? :p). But now when I log in, my char is gone! Did you do a wipe of all level 12 Barbarian Warriors named Jabber with "phat lewts"?!?!?! :shock:

But seriously, is there a reason my guy disappeared or was it some weird server bug? And, if it was a server bug, can I get those "phat lewts" back?

I still see Jabber on the DB. We haven't wiped chars since the server came up a year ago....

Maybe you changed account names?

Well, I was able to log in to Scorpius2K again yesterday (finally! Thanks Devs!!!) and sure enough, Mr. Jabber was back in action!

Unfortunately I can't play as him! I think it might have something to do with the version change as I can create new chars and play as them with no problems...

I am able to login to the server, but I go LD in an average of 30 seconds after I connect each time.

Yeah. I finally gave up and just created a new char that I'm playing with now (Jibber Jabber, 34 Froggie Pally).

When I first created Jibber, the server's stability was GREAT! I played for an entire night and only went LD once. There was virtually no lag!

And then it started. I would log in and play, but go LD on Zoning. Then it was loggin in and going LD in the middle of a zone. Then it was going LD 30 seconds after logging in.

Now, only a few days later, there are times that I can only play for 30 seconds before going LD and much of that time is spent being isolated in a Zone that's been disconnected from the World server. And that's if I can get logged in at all. I'll get 1017's, or the immediate LD after connecting. Sometimes I can't even see the server in the list after getting kicked out.

While these problems are definately annoying, I view them as growing pains. It'll take time, but because of the problems now, EQEMu will be more stable and reliable in the future.

I just hope that future comes soon!

I tried zoning to Gfay (to visit my hometown and punish some orcs) and when i zoned, the game dropped me back to the server screen. Is there any way to get my character Yiru back to the tutorial zone? Thanks.

A GM can move your character out of there. You can visit their channel (irc://irc.eqemulator.net:6667/scorpious2k) on IRC and ask a GM to help you out.

That happened to me a couple of days ago too. I had to make Helpy Mchelperton, a Froglok Shammy, and get a GM to move Jibber back to tutorial.

Some zones just lag a lot more than others and gfay has always been one of those on Scorp2k. Its best to just avoid them if they LD you alot after you find that out.

It didn't LD me a lot. . . It kicked me back to Character Select when I zoned in and then wouldn't let me log in at all! :shock:

S'all good though. I got my Shammy (Mr. Mchelperton) his Epic, some Scorp2K gear, and ALL HIS SPELLS THROUGH LEVEL 65!!! 8)

Oh, and it only took me about 5 min to find a GM who was willing to move my char for me! WTG GMs!!!! :D
