Need MySQL dl link please

Having trouble finding a link to download MySQL that works..

if anyone has a link I could use? version 4.0.18

The reason I need this link is because

Whenever I try to get into my db by using the MySQL.bat file or through the command prompt (cd \mysql\bin then mysql -u root mysql) it gives me this:

(used the command prompt here cause MySQL.bat just opens, then beep and poof)

I have tried starting winmysqladmin.exe and it starts up and hides itself with the stop light with a red light (before it would be green). I go down to it and right-click, Win NT >, click "Start the Service", it says "Start the Service Manager for the MySQL Server" Yes/No/Cancel, click Yes, it says "Fails to start the Service. Please wait 30 seconds to try again."

Anyone know what the problem is? Help please :)

*EDIT* if there is anymore information needed.. please ask :p I have never encountered this error before and have no idea what kind of information I should be posting.
