You can:
1) leave the old DB and create a new one, then change db.ini to match
2) make a copy or zip the directory c:\mysql\data\{your database name}
3) c:\mysql\bin\> mysqldump {database name} > {file name}
I have become a little concerned with 3, I have noticed that \' and \" are output as ' and " that doesn't appear to source back in corectly. Anyone know how to make this work right?
NOTE for #1 If you had to use the grant all priv... thing in mysql to get connected you may need to do it again for this DB
*edit clarified #1

3 is what I was looking for, I read it somewhere I just coundn't for the life of me remember what it was... I failed to mention I wanted to try out Ariak's new db...
To be honest, I have never tried 3. here it goes..
I'm wondering if I can just make a copy of the db.sql file in Bin.. store it in another folder, dump the current database in mysql, and source the new Ariak's db. and resource this backed up one if needed.? humm. I just want confirmation before I proceed, I don't want to hose myself...
I'm soo illeterate when it comes to databases..
The database I have now has alot of new crap that I created, and I don't want to lose it, just yet..
I wish the import Database worked reliably in EQAdmin.

If you think you will want to go back to the old DB or want some stuff from it, just start a new DB and change the database in db.ini to match.
It is really easy, and you don't risk corrupting any of the blob data (characters, and items come to mind) I am sure there is a way to output the blobs right, but I am too lazy to find it right now :p
The file produced from mysqldump is the same type as comes with the Emu, so you just create a database, use it and source the file back in.
