I load it up, and it has a little box. Save Settings
db name : eq4
database user: dbuser
datbase pass : dbpass
dblocation : C:\eqemu
eq dir : C:\Program Files\Games\Everquest
hit OK.
at the bottom left, Error : Unable to connect to Database.
Then I try, Reload DB
Unable to Reload Items, no database.
Bleh, :/

I'm at work so I can't check....but I think dblocation should either be your computer's ip address (192.168.1.1 or something like that) or it should be C:\mysql\data\eq
I'm pretty sure it's the ip address though.

Does it matter where I install the editor too? and is there anything else I need for this?

change DBlocation to localhost (unless it is on another comp then use the ip address)

You give it a spell effect.
There's no way to say "Heal X HP per tick" but you can do something like give it a Worn effect of Celestial Healing :twisted:

I'm having this same problem with these settings:
DatabaseName = eq
DatabaseUser = dbuser
DatabasePass = dbpass
DatabaseHost = localhost
EQDirectory = C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest
What did you do to get it working pheer?

What I did was change the "EQ Directory" to my EQEMu folder. Basically it's just asking where it can find a copy of spells_us.txt. That wouldn't keep you from being able to run the editor though, you just wouldn't be able to see what spell effects an item has.
Countess, Am I right in assuming that you have "dbuser" and "dbpass" as the actual username and password for accessing your EQ database? If that's the case then there's something wrong with your DB or you're giving it the wrong DB name. . .
Do you have a server up and running?

We're talking about Mangoo's Item Editor that comes packaged with the Win32 EQEMu Config.
If you've installed an EQEMu Server on your system just look in the "Item Editor" folder.
