When i log on with the EQEmu thing, it shows 15 servers... about half dont work, and the other half are cheesy....please dont tell me THIS is it? Besides making your own server, is there a way to find more?

Wait....
Alot of servers aren't working because the code isn't yet complete, remember the EQemu devs aren't getting paid for this, they have normal lives they have to live, and i am still amazed that they can produce as much as they do. but right now your best bet is to play on the non-legit Benden Wyer server, The Green Leaf Server, or any of the servers who text is colored green. if you think they are chessey hmm.. well i dunno what to tell ya.. i am helping KhaN make his server and i don't think the idea is cheesey, but its going to be a while in the making. The only other way to find more would be to find another emulation site, but your not going to find any others out there that work as well as eqemu, most of them all have world collision problems, and their databases aren't nearly as full as the ones on the eqemu servers. So my advice would be to dive into the cheeseyness and deal with it for a while, more servers come out every day, and plus alot of people don't host 24/7 servers, so have to log on at different times to see whats up. Other than that, eqlive is still up =P and we all know thats not cheesy =(.

There are also a few folks that are running servers with their own login process and they aren't appearing on the list. Keep your eyes peeled to the forums and watch for server names you havent seen before and links to their websites.
In addition, folks like Khan are redesigning worlds from the ground up. I'm in the process of doing the same kinda thing. The customizations on top of the everchanging code coming from the EQemu dev team take time to implement.
I guess the big thing is, if you are looking for a mirror of EQlive then eqemu isn't a match, yet... But with the progress I've seen made and the level of communications I've seen, it will come. Until then, pick one of the servers mentioned in the post above, sit back, relax, and enjoy something different. Playing and bug reporting could help bring the devs closer to the "mirror" environment that some folks are looking for. :P

Is there anything worse than a person who complains about a free thing? :P

If someone walks up to u and hands u a lump of dog sh**, ... I dont think you would be happy and not complain becauses its free. You can kind of see what im getting at in that...

That was just about the absolutely worst fitting analogy I have had the displeasure of laying my eyes on.
Noone's walking up and laying EQemu in your hands. If find a box lying on the ground, pick it up, take it home, and discover it's full of dog shit, you don't have room to complain, because you didn't need to pick up the box.
That's a real analogy.
