i've tried to retry this eqmu on my dads laptop... i patched the game then i did all the steps it tells me.. once i get to the login screen i type in my username and password... then it says error or just goes back to desktop.. help :)

It says on the howto guide thing that i need to log onto the real eq and make sure i have all the new files correct? that is what i did...

Sometimes the EqEmulator has not been updated to function with the new patch, so it breaks the program. You need to download a fix.

Can i just uninstall eq and just reinstall it?

Unfortunately, that is not likely to fix your problem either. Most of the servers are now running DR2 or DR3 code, which means that they are EQ Client compatible (or patch compatible) sometime between 05-05-2004 and 05-17-2004. If you reinstall EQ, your client will be too far out of date. If you patch, you will be patched beyond what the servers are since the login process is currently fuxxored.

The best thing to do at this point is to simply wait. If all goes well, hopefully the Devs will have a new release soon to get us working again.

I'm sorry I don't have a better suggestion. :(

Sounds good to me.. i'll just play Joint Operations while i wait... its a uber fun game :)
