ok i've had about enough...
i have tried to login to EQEmu using TWO DIFFERENT accounts that I have created! Using both Login Server Activation Key's for my key and each time the webpage kicks me out saying that BOTH my LSAK's are NOT valid keys!!! WTF?!? I have tried both different member accounts with the same results. I followed everything as outlined by the help fourm posting;

http://www.eqemulator.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9649&sid=55a919c0471888d093e707e9099420bf

so either this posting is WRONG or somthing is messed up between the EQEmu program and the server. I neeeeeed help!!!

Posting 2 times wont reslove your problem faster. Reading your problem, all i can say is its USER related, not EQEmu related~

EDIT : make it 4 posts now ... i wonder how many post you will create ...

Being that it works for everyone but you, I'd have to say it's human error.

Follow the steps more closely, make sure you're filling out everything correctly.

And... as mentioned in a reply to one of your other posts, if you patched on the 18th and didn't keep a copy of your files your screwed unless you have the windows system restore thingie enabled and can restore the previous version.

Just a question, but why is this (and his other threads) stickied?

Yeah why do we have 5 completely worhless stickied threads? I mean the guy was dumb in posting al these but we shouldn't make them stay around forever so that everybody sees this trash all hte time.

/shrug

I didn't know I could sticky my own topic either. I guess that shows how much I pay attention... :P

Of course, I never presumed something that I said to be "that" important, either...

Hmm...

Maybe I need to go ponder this while I watch some coffee brew.

Ouch. Hehe. Actually, brian, several people have responded to your requests for assistance from what I have read. The same instructions that are not working for you continue to work for others.

At that point, there is little that we (users), the mods or devs can do to assist you. No one can look over your shoulder and make sure that you are doing EXACTLY what was instructed and no one can make sure that you are properly typing the information, etc.

It's not that anyone WON'T help you. I believe that we have. You have been instructed and pointed (in the right directions) a few times, but it is still not working FOR YOU.

This raises a few questions about the "why" it doesn't work for you, but I won't go into that at all. Most of the "smart-ass" comments appeared because you cross-posted multiple times, the same thing, AND stickied it.

Most consider that a "tantrum". There are many people who look at these forums everday, and try to read every post. A single post would have done you just fine... TAKE TYPING IN ALL CAPS FOR EXAMPLE. HOW MANY PEOPLE RECOGNIZE THIS AS SHOUTING?!

So, unfortunately, brian, if you can't take some humour and if you can't follow instructions...

Well, see your own subject and the subject of my reply...

I don't see why people complain about free stuff...IT'S FREE! Take it as it is or go pay each month for EQ Live and waste your day waiting on petitions.

It just bugs me that people bust in here like something is owed to them. The people here help out of the goodness of their hearts...and get nothing in return. Drop the attitude and you'll get much further. I'm just glad that EQemu IS open to the public. I dunno if I'd be so generous if people jumped on my back all the time.

Thx to the devs and the rest of the EQemu community putting in all those unpaid hours.

Well said! I said in an earlier post that I think the Devs and mods need more "Thanks" instead of attitude and complaints...

Just to make sure that I am clear on this:
I personally want to thank the Devs and Mods for making EQEmu possible. Your work, time and efforts are well appreciated.

I think Brian needs to go back and read one of his several initial posts before criticizing anyone else here. A much better way to have handled his problem would have been the following:

1. Search the forums for people complaining about similar problems, both by using the search function at the top and reading recent posts in the general support forum. (If this would have been done and the problem is because of the May 20 patch he would have realized what his problem was from the beginning.)

2. If that wasn't his problem and he then decided to post, instead of posting with an attitude like someone owes him something, he should have instead posted asking for help. (instead of demanding) In the message take time to detail exactly what was happening and what had been tried. In this post it should have been stated that the other methods outlined in the forums for fixing problems didn't work.

It's hard for people to help or even want to help when people come off like this post started. As rocketdogg stated, this is a free project. If it don't work, it don't work. It's not like you are out anything so be kind and patient when you post for support and one of the users, devs, or server ops will assist you as soon as possible. Being an opensource project, nobody is getting paid to support folks here but with courtesy, I've found the support is better than most places where people are paid to support you.

I'd also like to express the sentiment of thanks to all the devs, mods, and world builders who have made this project possible. No matter how many people are ungracious to your efforts, know that you have a lot of folks who are very appreciative!

Hey Brian, since you are in the mood of deleting stuff, do you think you could delete or remove all the text from all the posts you made about this and unsticky them too? thanks.

I do agree that this is free and people should respect that, and that there isnt much you can do for people, but i gotta agree with brian that there is a lot of cocky, smart-ass peices of sh** on this site...

I think the reason people come off that way, is they get tired of answering the same questions over and over again for people who are too lazy to ready the forum/project rules and to do a search to find the answer to their problem. Inevitably(sp? :P ) we will all ask a dumb question, but when we do... Ask it respectfully and don't flame out in your post or thats what we'll get back. The key point is, be respectful, don't come off as an ass, and indicate what you have done on your own and you will get awesome responses back from the devs and the community.

I've never had someone come off like a "cocky, smart-ass piece of shit" in response to my posts. /wonders if he opened himself up for all the smart-ass comedians out there... heheh
