comp freezes

ok ive done research on this and i still cant find an answer but whenever i play, i can play for like maybe 5 minutes and then the game freezes, and it keeps doing this, i dont think its my video card or my internet, if anyone has any other idea post

Usually when this kind of thing happens, it's because the graphics card is overheating. Most cards are set up to detect this and shut themselves down to prevent damaging any hardware. In fact, most motherboards are like this now too (in that they can detect the processor overheating and shut it down - most motherboards themselves don't generate much heat :P)!

The only other thing I can think of is you might have a virus on your system that is causing it to randomly lock up (or a program that just doesn't like EQ although none come to mind).

What kind of graphics card do you have and does this happen on EQLive as well? Are any other games causing this (or a smiilar) problem?

i have a nvidia geforce4 mx400, i dont have eq live so i dont kno if it does, and no it doesnt happen on any other games
