I've heard so many people asking for an EQ Classic Server so here it is log in and play have fun enjoy the good old days dont complain that you cant #si/#zone/#level/#setskillall/#scribespells Please dont or i will ban you from the server =P. Thats not what it is. The max level on this server atm is 50 Currently you can create iskar's which i'm not sure why yet but all other expansions have been disabled and any non Odus/Antonica/Fawydar Zones are unavailable. In time i might expand to Kunark or Velious Just like eq started out. I'm not sure yet. I will be adding most EQ live quests to make it seem more like eq these quests are really not hard to make so let me know which ones you think are most important to get done first. If you got any questions or comments about this server let me know i'm sure there are still alot of bugs in it but i need ot know about em all so let me know. Website will be comming shortly with a list of what Quests spells ect are available. I will have a couple gms on to have events just like the old days. Sorry no bazaar back to the EC tunnel and Gfay trading. If not enough people enjoy this server i'm going back to my pvp server i hope you guys like it though.

Ran into some DB problems Server should be up tomarrow. Npcs arnt spawning so i figured i would just leave it down for now.

Go to the website and take the poll if you think Server should be pvp or not. I dont know what to decide.

Also post any ideas you have here i'm open to anything.

since quests arnt transfering, might as well add pvp, would be pretty fun, racial 3 team pvp,

i was gonna start a halfling rogue and when i was like lvl 6 would take all my bixie wax to everfrost and get a everglow candle, but adding all those little quests by hand wouldnt really be worth it, would it?

What do you mean quests arnt transfering? Quests are easy to do. I can go on Allakhazam and get all the info i need wont be any problem at all. But i still think pvp is a good idea.

BTW now i got npcs spawning :-). It was the stupid AC column hehe. Anyways just enabled perl with the new 5.7DR4 i got so it should be all working for tomarrow. I'll be on most of tomarrow fixing the GM's in zones for people.

You know, I was wondering if it would be feasible to make a script to run thru all of Allakhazam's quests on his website, dump the quest text, factions, quest items, mob names, etc. Would be kinda gay to hammer his server like that but I could prolly make something like that. I figure I would MW_057DR2_alpha_1 database to search for the mobs/items. Although I would literaly kill someone to get the next release of that database.... =D

Problem with something like that would be that most of the quests would be kinda screwy one way or another. Would need to go thru each one and clean em up. Then you need to check every npcid and crap.... kinda makes me shudder.

Anyhow, keep up the good work. Classic is the win! :D :P

It probly would be possible to do that but seriously all the quests are is copy and paste text change a couple item ids and i'm done its pretty much the same for each quest. Yes its alot of work but what else do i got to do this summer =P. Anyways putting the server up now for you guys not all the gms working yet i'll be on that soon.

Besides i dont want all the quests i only want EQ Classic Quests no gay newbie armor and other stuff. That totaly ruined the game hehe.

basicly every quest in every old world zone is a eq classic quest, i think theres to many for you to handle, hopefully you can get the more popular ones up tho, and is it possible to remove npcs that dont work so its easier to find quests? GRRRRRR i wish quest transfered that makes me so angry

Over time i can get all of em but i want people to /petition which ones are most used i know very few of them hehe.

BTW Server was having login problems it seems about 4 or 5 people tyed to log on kept getting disconnected so i'm gona work on that atm hopefully it will be fixed soon.

id start off with getting all the freeport quests wroking, just cause thats my fav and most interensting town :) and it has tons of really well written and thought out, but now obsolete quests

Ahh good old freeport :-). My first character was a human pally he was alot of fun. I love Freeport. But since Luclin and PoP no one ever uses towns anymore what a shame.

It was but its having errors atm when peope zone in. Everyone i've seen try gets disconnected. I get disconnected everyother time i login. Not sure what hte problem is yet i posted for some help on boards. It might just be my firewall that doesnt like you guys. BUt my computer shutsdown when i got no firewall since its got some spyware on it.

i got in after a couple attempts, didnt get much done other than mem a couple spells. After character creation everything seems fine. Logging in the first time will boot you. Trying again a few times will let you in. Dont know how long it will let you play. I had the exact same problem with my dr4 server.

Getting "String not found" errors. Also cant target myself for buffs. I tried using a previous eq_str file.. that fixxed my string errors. but i think it makes world.exe crash or something.... cant remember

Not sure man i'm not a Dev and i know nothing about OP code errors hehe. I know theres alot of errors like that going around because DR4 is so buggy. I want to switch back to DR3 but i'm not sure how many people havent patched yet.

Indeed, most people should have several copies of eq for different revisions, i dont see a problem with switching back to dr3.

DR3 it is then be about 5min and i'll have it back up DR3. I liked it that way more anyways no errors and crap. More fun :-).

Try a different zone i logged in fine. it froze the first time but second was fine.

Do you know which patch date your using? Ive got like april28 and may12 backed up.... something close to that anyhow.

Either way, Im getting booted back to server select. Sigh I hate patches 4 reel.

Have you changed EMUsharemem/NPCTypes.h from 200000 to 400000 ? some of the older dr's dont have that updated yet.

It was working fine till my computer crashed because of lightening. Server is working atm but its on a temporary DB.

Sounds pretty cool, you should add pvp though, racial teams if possible :)

Human - Humans, Erudites, Barbarians
Shorts/Elves- Halfling, Gnome, Dwarf, Woodelfs, High Elves, Half Elves.

Could also move half elves to human and move gnomes to dark..

thats how i think it should be, i think you should aslo be able to group with the other team, also, exp loss from pk deaths is a must, or else as tallon/vallon have shown us it gets out of control

a growing level limit between players would be nice if possible to, so at lvl 5 you cant be attacked by higher than a lvl 10, at level 10 no higher than a lvl 15, a level 15 cant be attacked by higher than a lvl 25, and a 25 cant be attacked by higher than a lvl 40

should be no soulbinders either, and xp death from a pk should be like half or 25% the xp loss as usual

also, i think the exp should be about double the normal, just to speed things up and avoid grinding

Probly not. I will upgrade to DR4 if they ever get a release that does not have as many op errors. Its basicaly unplayable the way that it is unless you know how all of the source works which i dont i can do some stuff but dont know enough about it. The most programing i've done is programing a robot. (We got 2nd place in state competition) That was alot of fun but i dont know all the code for this server so i'm kinda useless here =P.

And about making it pvp. I think that teams might be a good idea i was also thinking maybe continents pvp it would be dangerous if you entered another continent. Only problem is Odus would have some problems with places to level =P. I really dunno yet i'm still open ot any suggestions.

racial pvp teams would be the coolest.. i had 62 epic'd rogue on sullon and 54 ranger on rallos and a 45+ shaman in tallonzek so i know the good and bad of each server

no pking your teammates is a must, so you always feel safe at your hometown, also, if a dwarf attacks a wood elf in kelethin, the guards should help the elf.

you also need to be able to group with the other teams, or else the gnomes dwarfs and elfs of faydwer wont have to much fun,

exp loss from pk death is very important, or else it very qiuckly becomes apparent that if you have all your money banked, you can keep running out there and go pk crazy with no risk, it would be cool to see the exp loss like half the exp loss of a normal death, maybe even less

i looked around the board and it seems theres no way to get back to dr3 unless someone uploads the old files .. could you please move back to dr4? me and like 5 friends want to play but all have the latest update.. and theres also all the people that will come when i post about it on the other forums i post at, they all have dr4 probly

Ok seems so many people want it DR4 Its worth Spending some time learning the code to make it playable. Tomarrow i will be working on the code. I thing i fixed a problem that was disabling people from logging in or going LD when they zoned. I was on tonight and zoned probly 20 times and didnt disconnect me. Tomarrow i'll be looking for fixes for some op codes that make it hard to fight and stuff. While i'm working i might put up the DR3 version or DR4 it depends what more people want i got both compiled atm so its whatever you guys would rather have right now... a buggy DR4 or DR3. Anyways talk to you guys tomarrow I hope you all will like DR4, and i hope i can make it playable i know a little about programing probly not enough... well see.

Seriously best way is to learn perl and do em =P. I learned it in one day its nothing hard go to a tutorial is basicaly just like any other programing language cept different syntax. Even if you mess up i can still Fix the problem faster than i can write the whole thing.

Right now i'm working on the DR4 version but i got DR3 up and running because DR4 spells dont work and some other things once i figure out how ot work it i'll get DR4 up since it should be semi-playable. my DR3 should be up all day please play it and stop whining about DR4 =P. It sucks anyways.

:( I'm pretty new to EQmu server, and am current under the impression that if I joined recently I can't go back to DR3.... this sounds like an awesome server I'd love to play on, is there anyway I could??

Thats pretty much the case but i should have it up to the latest version fairly soon i'm gona try and get some of the Op codes fixed like the other DR4 servers now. If you were to play on my DR4 version you cant cast spells and some other bugs hehe. So its not that great in DR4 atm however i'm wroking on it. If you guys were interested in my server go check out Circle of Elements its my new server basicaly.

Server is running 2ghz xeon with 1gig ram and a 100mps connection. If needed we could use 2 or 3 servers.

Server is eq classic like mine planned to be. Server ops are Me Virus and Randerson. Well anyways the beta has begun go play it and petition the shitzu outa everything yo find. Our top priority for hte server is makeing it like EQ Live was about 5 years ago when it first came out.
