after selecting MY server , I get kicked back to the login i

i have win xp pro - running on extreme speed cable internet - running mysql 4.0 - Downloaded the patch from sony eq on june 16 - i am running emu 5.7 DR6. I CAN LOG ON AND PLAY ON ANY SERVER ON EMU - I want to set my pc to be a server and also would like to use the same pc to play eq. I load world.exe, it runs beautiful , no errors , so does my boot5zones no errors... OK now i click on my eqgames.exe Patch with the eqhost.txt

I enter login name and pass word, i go to the server screen - I select my server , highlight it and click play, screen freezes for 20 secs or so, - NOW I'm BACK AT MY LOGIN SCREEN.. I try again enter my info, this time i select different server , i can login and play no problem, well try one more time -- i select my server and get kicked back to my login screen. question 1. anyone know why this happens? 2. can you use the same PC to act as a server and client ? 3. if no and i need a seperate pc for a server, does the server need to have a copy of everquest installed on it? thanks in advance..

I am having the same problem. I am running DR6. Server is up but I cant login to it. Server and Client are on same computer.

1. Are you sure you have the correct IP address in the Login.ini as well as in the zone.bat file? I forgot to change it and was getting a 1017 error. Might be your problem also.

2. Yes you can host and play on the same machine.

I am having the same problems as you guys, everything is up and all and I try to log on and I get kicked to login screen

got 1017 on my own server too , dont have a router either.

Hope someone could answer this. This is one of my most problems and it still has yet to be solved.
