linksys sucks so much dick. dont buy anything from linksys! ive gone through TWO yes TWO wireless USB adapters and they both stopped working within a month of having them. and on the first one i bought the installation CD didnt even fuc*ing work. i had to acctually MAKE a file called config.ini in order to get the installation to work right. so fuc*ing lame. they need to acctually make QUALITY products before releasing them.
GOOD DAY!
I agree about Linksys, I had a linksys router and not only did it end up burning out on me, but every firmware 'upgrade' broke a feature that was previously working.
Stay far, far away from Linksys.

I have linksys router, linksys wireless internet card for this computer, 3 linksys wireliss USB thingys for 2 laptops and 1 normal computer for my brother, and a wireless USB box for my PS2.
Took me a month to get everything configured right, and I memorized how to fix them. I think its actually a great product if you know how to use it right.
Ive had a linksys sense last christmas....

ya both the wireless routers ive had after a week or so say "unknown device" when i plug it in...whenever it works when i plug it in, it connects for about 3mins then says "wireless connection unavailable"...ive gone through their entire knowledge base and called tech support about 5 times...the lame tech support always tells me to do the same things as well lol...its rather annoying...so ive just given up

I know a lot of people that have that issue with wireless devices regardless of brand thats why I wont upgrade, running wires all over my house is less trouble lol

I must be lucky also, I've only had one problem and that was with a firmware upgrade that wouldn't allow me to play EQ. It wouldn't keep the connection alive quick enough for eq. Other than that I've had no problems with my linksys. I also have to agree with mattmeck running wires all over is easier than attempting wireless imo.

My house is very wireless with linksys, the hotel i work in is ran on wireless linksys systems, and i never had a problem with it, linksys is good if you can tweak and if you don't read directions!

The problem with network routers/networking in general is not the hardware, its the fact that any idiot can go out and buy a router, try to set up a network not knowing how to properly do it or what an internal ip address is for that matter, then when it gives them problems they blame the hardware.
I have had a Linksys router for about 4 years and never had a problem with it.

Maybe so, but I'm quite certain that x-scythe and bUsh know about internal IP's and how to configure them, and when they say it's not working, I'll trust their observations :P
I've heard too many "F Linksys"'s in my online gaming -- both here and elsewhere -- to wanna get anywhere near them

I've had my linksys router for about 2 years now.
I'm going to change it, not because it stopped working, but because about a month ago it was struck by a surge of electricty/lighting ( it was the only thing not hooked up to a surge protector).
the funny thing is that IT STILL WORKS, minus 2 ports.

No problems with my Linksys router.
I think most the problems people have are operator error. If you know what to do you can make them work easily with eqemu. )
