Please excuse my ignorance, but ive been trying to install EQ in two separate location so I can play both live and EQ EMu but it seems that no matter what I do it runs it from the regular EQ folder. Is there some trick to this that im missing?

Thanks, like I hadnt tried that....
No matter which eq folder I use to lauch it, if Ive patched it in the EQ one it causes the EQEmu one to be altered.

Shut up bbum you haven't "PWNED" anyone, nor was this person "PWNED" by anyone, it was a suggestion not a flame. if you want to see someone getting PWNED then look here under the responses to the posts by bbum

and btw, you don't need to franticly smash your mouse button to get your aswome post up there causing it to double post.

Few Questions for you.

1. When you are running eq from one of the folders, are you using the normal everquest shortcut (causing it to run the patcher program?)

2. If not, have you made shortcuts using the "patchme" method that points to one of the two directories? this will prevent the patcher from loading.

3. When you patch do you see it downloading double of every item? otherwise it shouldn't be updating both directories, what you should do is keep your normal everquest shortcut (the one that runs your eqlive patcher) and Name it EQLive, then make a second one that points to "eqgame.exe patchme" and name it eqemu that way you won't accidently run the patcher on your eqemu folder, and same the other way you won't run off the eqemu in your eqlive folder.

If you still are having problems post exactly what is happening when you try to run the everquest to play on the eqemu servers and we might be able to help you further.

Was I sopose to asume you did? You didnt say you did you stated
but ive been trying to install EQ in two separate location

Charmy covered almost everything, I would like to know if you have managed to get connected to EQEMU yet, if you can, and you have 2 EQ folders you shouldnt have them both being patched when you run the live version.

Give us step by step exactly what you are doing, so far there is a lot more questions then answers for you.

i.e. first i copyd and pasted the EQ folder to my desktop, then I edited the EQhost then I made a shortcut to ......

If you sneezedduring any steps let us know, better to give too much info then not enough or you may get other sugestions that you already did, then you will give another smart ass remark and people wont help you.

I'm just wondering if his target path is pointing to everquest.exe on both folders or eqgame.exe ?
