A little help with login

I did everything the guide said to do, and when I start up EQ and get to the login screen, i type in my name and everything and when i hit Login the "Logging into the everquest server" window pops up and it just freezes my comp there.

Any clue?

(Also, at times it just sits for a second when i press Login, and then it just straight out closes EQ)

Wrong .exe/.dll/UI version maybe?

From what I can tell, if you are patched up to the new login screen, there is no hope for you until the devs find a way to make it work.
