I've done everything on the Play Guide, but I can't find where it tells you how to play single player. Anyone able to direct me? Thanks

I would assume that there technically is a way to do it. Just keep your server locked at all times, then you would be the only one that could access it.

There used to be a way to play without connecting to the internet called minilogin, but it no longer works. Now you can play on a server by yourself by making a server and locking it, but I would think that it would be more fun to leave it unlocked since you are on the internet anyway, you may play by yourself for a while, but if you're lucky a few poeple will join you.

single play (offline) everquest would be awsome and having the ability to take it online to invite certain people like you and a friend only and such.

There would a page on Sony where you can download new zones and such for your single player version and there would be special codes like on the EMU where you could do things like automatically go to any zone, get any item you want, cast any spell you want, fly, auto level, and such.

and it would have to be made by sony so you could go to the store and buy the single player version for 50$!!!

this would all happen the day the world is destroyed

I'm sure there's a way to create an offline server...

If you were patched when dr3 was out and had minilogin, yes. If you did not, no.

If you sit down and packetcollect the login process and rewrite minilogin, yes, otherwise no. THere you have two ways to do it so it is possible.

So if I read you correctly, source is currently not available for any revision of minilogin?

That'd be a pretty large deterrent to anyone who would consider writing a new version - their task just went from modifying login procedures according to new packet data to re-inventing the wheel and the whole login server algorithm. Talk about a pain....

Then again, this was probably taken into account when the decision was made to keep the code private, so who am I to question the decision?
