Alrighty, I have indeed spent a couple of hours searching the forum. To no avail, or at least, probably wasn't putting in the right search term.
I have followed all the tricks and the trade, to get my own eqemu server running.
I have had the 1017 error come sometimes, the database loading error come up sometimes.
Nearly every error that is mentioned, I have ran across it, and for the most part fixed them.
Now I have patched to the latest on live. I am able to connect to certian eqemu servers like WR, (I hope it is okay for me to say that)
and play extensively.
Now, here is my latest developement. I have minilogin, world, and bat5zones running,. no errors reported on the windows.
I make sure my eqhost is setup to look at the computer on the lan.
I can eqgame.exe patchme. and I press connect and type my user name and password, and click connect, it takes me to the server select screen. At the top I have Welcome: eqemu scrolling. and
when I go to select a server. boom, there aren't any to select.

That is far as I can go. Except exit.
here is the configurations I have.

db.ini
[Database]
host=localhost
user=root
password=****
Database=eq1
compression=off

loginserver.ini

[LoginServer]
loginserver=eqemulator.net
loginserver2=eqemulator.net
loginserver3=eqemulator.net
loginport=5995
loginport2=5995
loginport3=5995
worldname=everquestworld
worldaddress=192.168.1.101
locked=False

[WorldServer]
Defaultstatus=0
Unavailzone=

[LoginConfig]
ServerMode=Standalone
ServerPort=5999
UplinkAddress=
UplinkPort=
UplinkAccount=
UplinkPassword=

[ChatChannelServer]
server=localhost

eqhost.txt

[Registration Servers]
{
"192.168.1.101:5999"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"192.168.1.101:5999"
}

I have taken all spaces out of this file and made it read only

I guess, I am stuck maybe until the new eqemu arrives.
or if you have any ideas I would appreciate it.

Hmm, well you are logging your sever into the global server list so if you are pointing your client to your Minilogin, you won't see it...

Can you see your server if you set client to eqemulator.net:5995?

Oh, and no-one will be able to log in to your server externally as you have your worldaddress set to your local IP address.

I think you just need to change the loginserver to your local machine and loginport to the port that Minilogin is on (5999 by default I think.)

Hope that makes sense...

When I got database errors, I just redid my database and the whole thing finally worked, its working now, world.exe and 21 copies of zone.exe all online, well anyway... it happened to me, I just had to fix database.

But with the part about the minilogin, you dont need it if your servers registering on the eqemu login server.

This confused me too, if you wait for about 4 and a half months then suddenly try it on a whim, it might work.. thats what I did.
