Hi, just wanted to say I got it up for the day and was hopeing i could get some people to come on and test it out abit. For the time being I have the #zone command open to all users for it. I have a couple of quests complete and most of the lower level custom zones populated. I also have sped up the leveling a little bit, and of course included some custom items to start with. Feel free to /petition any questions/comments/bugs you may find on there. I am far from complete with it, but I got it started at least.

I got to run, sorry I can't desribe it more.

Just wanted to let everybody who has been playing on my server know I will be bringing it down for awhile. There is just too many bugs in it at the moment to be what I would consider playable. Things I plan to have working before bringing it back up is:

-Item shifting/vanishing bug.

-Merchants not letting you to sell to them.

-Spells Scriber

-Effects on a couple of items

-Safepoints in custom zones (solrotower for sure)

-Finish out the storyline. This will basicallydouble the content. Im sure those who have hit 65 notice there isn't much left to do. That will change soon enough. Reaching 65 is only half of what I have in store.

-Add Flagging quests, somewhat similar to eqlive

-Add support to reach higher levels then 65.

All of this may not go into play, but I want at minimum for people not to have to worry about loseing loot. I know there is nothing more annoying then loseing items while zoning. Anybody has any possible solutions for any of the bugs i got listed above please PM me about them. I have tried various builds of the emu and they all still give me that item shifting. Please PM me any solutions you have, as this is not really a support thread.

So this IS a problem on alot of other servers then? I never noticed it when I played scorp 2k or that midnight rayne server. Then again it mainly seems to show itself when your upgradeing a slot.

Any chance the next release of the emu may be fixing this issue?

s2k has fixed all sorts of stuff.

it's rampant on the stock CVS's

items not found and deleted when moving around in bags and trade windows

I am planning on putting Fronglo's server up here in the next couple of days. The main thing I am holding off for right now is simply to finish up the final quests. Some Changes that have been made are:

-More content for people past 60+, includeing a zone designed strictly for raiding purposes (and the big boss). The only thing I want to let out about this is it starts after defeating time.

-Merchants should now buy from players. However like most servers you can't expect them to work if you start clicking the sell button before the merchant completely loads.

-Itemshifting is still there, however if you equip and unequip newly received items they should not vanish. My friend and myself have tested this several times in several zones and had no problems with it loseing items.

I am mainly making this so GM's don't get spammed to death with people who lost such n such item. Expect to see it up again within the next couple of days.

Hey guys, this is Boggles (GM for Frongi) and I have a small solution for the itemshifting/vanishing act that gear does.

Darkblade had this same prob on his server, but its easily resolved (sounds like alot I know, but really its fast)

1. loot item to your inventory (ie. right click it off dead mob so it goes to bags)

2. pick up old item you are replacing and either A. destroy it or B. put it in bags.

3. Pick up new item out of bags and put directly into slot (ie. do NOT auto equip it by clicking the item in that box)

4. Target self and #save 2 times


I've started doing that and have yet to lose an item except when I've just looted something and I LD or die...using those 4 simple steps, I never lose anything ;) Of course, should any problems arise, I will do what I can to help while online :D Hope to see you all there

I do allow players to use the #save command. I have found that if you equip and unequip the items a couple of times your generally ok. Really do wish that the devs that have fixed this problem would make the fix public.

Server seemed pretty stable but as far as i can tell there isnt a whole lot of custom content cept for maybe items, and a couple quests the zones i saw were spawned almost exactly like ones in live same modles and stuff. I think for alot of it the actualy source from an eqemulator db. Not a whole lot about it interested me if i wanted to get custom items and quests i would go to scorpious2k very stable most buggs fixed and nice custom contect but jsut like this server you get to 65 and get uber gear and classes instantly become unbalanced.

I don't see where you get there isn't anything custom? Did you even bother to hail any mobs in the server so see where to go? I did use a eqemu database to start with, however it has been heavily edited. The zones I have actually changed are not like live at all.

And of course Scorp2k is more stable. He is a dev, he has tons of bugs fixed, and a dedicated server to host his server on.

And you don't think classes are unbalanced on other servers?

I never said there wasnt custom stuff about it. I said there wasnt enough that would draw my interest to this server over something else. Nothing special about it thati could tell to differer form scorp or something.

I'm usually playing on Fronglo server. (well, not right cause it's down) I can tell that it's one of the funniest server I've played on. The first is S2k, of course, but it gets boring as hell once u re 100+.

I sure hope that Frongi will bring us some more content (and a new server please! :D) soon so the server will get really more interesting/stable. And btw, if u play on Fronglo, then you should help Frongi to make the server more interesting on his forum: http://p071.ezboard.com/ffronglosparadiseforumfrm1

While I do have custom code in our server, there are no bug fixes that are not also in CVS. I test them on our server and then move them to CVS when I know they work and don't break anything else. I don't and never will allow something to remain broken in the CVS release if I know the solution.

I remember hearing about this inventory bug when Midnight Rayne first came out. Dspirit was trying to solve it on his server. Since I didn't have it, we tried to compare differences between the two servers. As I recall, we narrowed it down to custom items. When he removed his, the bug vanished. When he restored them ir came back. I'm not sure how he finally resolved it. Maybe he can tell you.

If its something in the emulator, it needs to be squashed immediately. If its db/items related, it needs to be identified and a fix for the db made available.

Perhaps we should switch to a fresh "lucy only" items db with all those unknowns set to 0 )

who knows....

This is the best server I have played on in my several months of playing everquest emulator. The support even though there doesn't seem enough are great. The leveling is fast and recently they have added some challenges that some have not grown to accept but had to happen. I will play this server and only this one for quite a long time and I suggest it to others.
