I have an idea that sounds cool..

A feature that can be designed for this to be more like the EQlive servers, we have the server export its status to a webpage, by writing it to a SQL table, or by pinging a "Servers Online" server.

And, something that might be interesting is an installer for the server, so more people could enjoy its use.

I am such a huge fan, thanks for everything you have done, I will probably have an easy time with the installer, but the other one I would need to learn more PHP to do.

Anyway, thanks for everythign, a server status page would be good to see whos online and what servers are up and stuff without having to login to EQ.

The only servers that need "installers" are ones that have custom content. And all of them already have patchers or zip files to easily installl all that content.

ok cool. I meant a server installer for someone to run a file and it would install the server for them.

I dont see how that applies to "many" of the servers, i was on my server last night.. only 7 servers were online.

That's because servers that don't write custom code come and go. They come online. people try them, leave. then they die.

To be a successful emu server you need a dedicated (or multiple dedicated) servers on 24/7 in a datacenter somewhere. And you need to have experienced coders that can fix the server's code to eliminate bugs and make it more stable.

Without these elements there's nothing differentiating you from any other joe schmoes server set up on his laptop or in his living room
