Just fair warning. The creatures of Norrath have grown tired of players roaming freely. If you aren't careful you might be their next snack.
[Affects mobs level 7+ ::Newbie zones are somewhat safe unless you wander too far]
Animals: Lions, Bears, Wolves are now kos.
Undead: All undead are kos.
Giants: All Giants are now kos.
newbie zones should have there little dangers, like do orc pawns attack you? and like in gfay the orc cent that walks to the newbie lift, vengefull skellys in everfrost, that marsh bear in teh ferrot.. flippy darkpaw in qeynos lol. thats about all i can think of.
btw i logged on my lvl 1 druid andi was in kithicor and a red skelly aggro me, i was like woot. and i just waited to die since i had no chance. then it hit me for 4pts of dmg. im likewtf, and then it started missing me and hitting for 2's and stuff. i swear i could of out ran it to zoneline in the time it took to kill me. on live im pretty sure i would of been dead in like 2 - 3 hits.
anyway.. fix that kinda stuff before you work on kunark db :P

Thats because freshly collected DB's have no values in mindmg and maxdmg.
Need a formula that assigns basic damages based on lvl of mob... Anybody have any that are similar to live?

sotonin,
do you know a good place that I could get this sort of information about live? Is there a DB with a lot of good aproximations for a good range of mobs or some website? specifically a web site which might be easy to pull the information from in bulk...
If I was able to get ahold of such raw data, I could prolly determine a good function to determine damage levels.

not really.
EQMaps.com has some pretty good dmg listings in some zones.
It's a membership site now though. (i'm a member)
But you'd have to go through and take mob lvls, and dmg for a few. Not really a "bulk" way and a lot of mobs dont have dmg listed.

Well I definately dont need all mobs, just a decent sample from a good distribution of levels... To do a potentially useful approximation, I would need between 100 (prolly too few) and 1000 examples... the more the better of course. I would prolly avoid the really high mobs, since they dont likely follow the same trends as regular mobs.
One problem, from my limited knowledge of the combat system is how this data might be collected... isnt it dependant on armor class, buffs, and maybe other stuff... seems like it might be very noisy data unless you ran around naked and let them beat on you... :)
how long would it really take to go thru by hand and tweak the mobs? thats what your gonan end up doin if you want to get it near perfect probly

11630 total NPCS in the database.
Take a guess... a long ass time.

And thats just the classic zones, still over 150 zones to be added.
11630 individual npc's??
=/ i was expecting it to take maybe a few months to go get hit by each mob a few times and edit him to be near live ... but 11630 npcs wtf?? your sure thats not counting like A_large_rat01 - A_large_rat02?
