Today I just noticed in my patched eq folder, "TestEverQuest.exe" which is EQLive's Test Server Patcher had a new icon *gasp*.
And behold, I saw before me EverQuest: Launchpad. It is LIVE on TEST (so semi-live =p)
It DOES require a login before patch.

alot of people here dont have friends who play eq, ie. me :?
So whoever is the poeple working on the client not to be mean but it would be nice if it could come out a little bit faster i'd even be willing to help. i know some C++ and a few other languages, dun think anything else but C++ would matter though.

Everquest Launchpad is where you have to login with an eqlive account before you can patch.
so when they update eqemu to live you guys with no account are fux0rd?
more reason to work on one version of eqemu i guess hehe

naw i bet someone will find a workaround for the launchpad, i think it works the same as the new login process with the address for account handleing in a txt file.

If we changed the address, we could no longer access their patch server for obvious reasons.

This is very interesting indeed. I have a live account though. I actually have two live accounts. But in order to loggin will I have to pay to make it to the patch? This may cause many losses to EQEmulator. Is that going to be a problem? I may have to buy GoD in order to play on it unless there is some way around it. Ah well. I am not going to worry about it. Good luck to the ones that have to.

lpClientConfig.xml in the EverQuest Directory
(You only have it if you installed launchpad)
has different download servers inside the tag:
<ServerList>
Currently, the servers are
sdlaunchpad1.station.sony.com:9700
sdlaunchpad2.station.sony.com:9700
</ServerList>
It ALSO has this, which i think what he was saying is if we can make this login through eqemu servers and continue, it would let us download from the above download servers. I don't know the legal aspects of it, but just a thought.
<Server>
sdlogin-test.station.sony.com:3016</Server>
<Server>
sdlogin-test.station.sony.com:3017</Server>
It also has maybe like 10 (didnt count) ChatServer tags, but dont think those are important.

Someone should just make a server that runs off of the actual cd's.
Granted the exploits will still be there, but you could fix them from your servers, not our directories.

this only matters if you want the newest EQ expansions. I still mostly use 0.5.5 (like dx8 client) so doesn't phase me a bit =)
I miss 5.5 My dumbass should of kept a copy of those files .... O wait i did =) my bad =p

I guess some of the server admins will decide to keep a certain eqemu version and enhance their server for the poor people that can't patch.
