Any of the servers have the Starting tutorial?

Im still very new to everquest. I know when you play on the retail servers you get a very nice tutorial to help you get the hang of things.

I have tried to get the tutorial on the private servers but it just doesnt seem to load it up.

Do any of the servers out there right now have the tutorial? If I create my own server can I include the tutorial?

The best tutorial EQ has ever had is the original one released with the game, IMO. A little outdated now, but it covers all the important stuff you'll be doing in game - fighting, casting spells, buying, selling, banking, talking to npc's, etc. Too bad Sony broke it.

If you want to get it to work, just install an old copy of EQ (anything before Luclin, i think) and do NOT patch EQ. Just run tutorial.exe
Other than that, I doubt you'll find too many EQEmu servers that bother recreating the tutorial, especially since its heavily scripted and would take a lot of time. I'm not even sure we can get those fancy mp3's to play.

All I have is Everquest Platinum :(

I have a few friend's who would like to try Everquest out and the tutorial that you currently get on the Retail Servers, would be a tremendous help to me and my friend's. But sounds like its a no go. If it was a easy proccess I guess someone would have already done it for their server.

One can only hope that someone will get it up and working someday. I really woudnt no where to start.

If only I knew the zone ID for Tutoriala and tutorialb I could get it running , but cant seem to find it yet

Scorps has it up and running and spawned, even addes a PoK book.

yeah i was going to spawn the tutorial zone, but not with the tut npcs it was more likely going to be a "hall of the giants" where the npcs are named after people who helped my server the most or really good friends.

Tutorial is a custom zone, and Dindo got the mines working. so now ehn you jump down the hole in Tut you go there :shock:

If you think about it that is kinda what is up with the live tutorial.. cept it also helps newbies. Look at some of the names... Absor ring any bells?

The tutorial is kinda useless imho. The only good thing about it on live is the charm you get with +5 to every stat cept mana and hp which is +10.

If you really want to learn how to play just run around and try things out.

We're using 188 for tutoriala and 189 for tutorialb.

For those of you who dont know you can find out the zone id for any zone just by going to that zone and doing #zonestatus.

It will report the zone id's for all zones that are open.

LoL , Well you can not get into the zone to do a #zonestatus if that zone is not even in your database and for it to be in your database and working you need , ZONE ID ! but thanks for trying to help :)

Also if I log into scorpious2k, How do I access Tutorials A and B? Does it automatically through me into A if I choose load the tutorial after choosing my character?

Our server doesn't have the tutorial, we use the zones as regular type zones.

nobody *has the tutorial. just the zones.

in live both are used.

Tutoriala is a instanced type thing. only u are in the whole zone. u spawn and fight a single mob hand a key in and are teleported to the tutorialb. which is the one with other players and npcs etc.
