little sky-problem

Hi all
I have the prob that all the skies in EQ r black.
It must be a client prob because I have it on each server and on my other PC.
I read here in this forum that it has something to do with the new DX9 skies and that I hav to change the sky.s3d with an old one.
I did this but it didnt help.
Maybe someone has a clue what I have to do to reactivate them?

The servers you are on prolly don't have these... If you do 2 layer 3dsky in client you get cool purple and black clouds. But, if server has the cfg files the sky/fog/darkness of zones will be more like "live"

we have our own server running for a week now (still in testing),
what cfg files do we need or have to change so that the skies r like in EQ-live, we r using version 5.7-DR6 atm.

as far as i know you can't.

not until you upgrade to 5.8 when it's finished. Because you must have the live client to have the new skies

ya, I don't even know what the new skys in EQLive look like =) Been two years since I have played.. But the cfg files can be found here:

All you have to do is hit one link from main page to find it =P

edit-place the .cfg files into "\eqemuserverfiles\cfg\ " dirrectory..

they are already there in the proper place.

That's not the issue. we are stumped as to what the issue is. it simply refuses to load them.

Reading zhdr file './cfg/oasis.cfg'
Using database for safe coords.
Zone safe coords are x = 903.98; y = 490.03; z= 6.4
Couldn't find/read ./cfg/.cfg. (returning -1)
Corrupt (or nonexistant) zhdr file ./cfg/.cfg -- fread count = -1 (should be 588)
Using default zone header data...

our server is now version 5.8 inclusiv the new skies.
now EQ looks much better ;)
