need some help

i just installed everything in order to run eqemu, and when i login, and enter screen name and password... it tells me it cant connect to hot, and to check if my internet connection is up and running..... of course it is... so... im a little confused on what might be wrong... can anyone tell me what to do to enable me to connect?

ok.... so i have solved one problem.... only to be faced with another. i can now get PAST the login screen, and to server select..... but there are no servers. this happens both on 5994, and 5996. wtf did i do wrong now? or what am i NOT doing. im new to all this, so it has been a steep learning curve for me in the last 24 hours.... so be easy with me lol.

i have dug in these forums lots, and have also not found out why i have seemed to followed all directions but it keeps saying bad user/pass. i just want to log in!!!!

if you are new you are out of luck.

the reason there are no servers is because no servers are running that version.

ok..... i have managed to get to char selection... create a char, and get into the game..... NOW my fookin problem is that i go LD every 2 to 5 min..... i have changed my datarate to anywhere from .5 to 4.0 and it still goes LD consistently..... is there anything i can do to fix this?

woohooo i got loged in, by changing nothing just waiting, now i get a black screen after charcter creation when i try to log into world anyone have any helpfull ideas

ocean there could be several reason why you go LD once in a server..

1. thier server is running slowly or lagged up..
2. your connection to the net is bad..

my suggestion is.. just restart pc reconnect try again..
ive played on servers and am hosting a server.. i know the software works for a fact..

You have an incompatible client you can't play man. Youd know this if you read any of the other 100 posts that explain this very thing.

I have last client and i cant play on 0.5.9DR1. Same problem... black screen after character creation..... In other 100 posts isnt right answer.

I'm having the same issue. There's probably about 5 threads on the first page on the gen. support about it.

If you have a NEWLY PATCHED (as for 9/14 if i read correctly) client, you cant play yet.
I know, it blows, but we've got to wait. Starting another thread about it is just going to annoy everyone.

Well, but 9/23 is additionally released new patch :? , thats mean - nobody cant play long time.....

if its true than how is it ocean just installed and he is getting into the game? i have read other posts of people getting in also but nobody realy stops and says how other than half answered qustions

Ok i just started playing , with in the last week and a half or so. I can log in to the game, ie past char screen. but after about a min or 2 i lock up totaly. Do i need to do something dif to stop this or just wait for a new patch to fix this?

ok goddamnit... this is pissing me off.... i cannot seem to stay connected no matter what.... i get in game, and 5min later, i go LD.... i have changed my datarate 34856234623 times, nothing is working.... what in #$%$ is wrong? grrrr

Wow, lucky you, I can only open up Everquest, when I try to log in now, it kicks me out of the game back to my desktop.

It used to at least try and connect before (getting the error I could not connect to server) so I kept trying to change the eqhost file to the MANY differerent servers Everyone likes to post, but I changed it to

host=newlogin1.eqemulator.net:5994

and now It keeps crashing, even when I changed it back to an older one...
