I'm trying to use MySQL 4.0.21-nt, with EQEmu 0.5.8; the database I am not completely sure of at the moment as I have yet to get running. I know I have two errors one regards the compatability of the data base (which one and where?), and also a possible firewall issue, which the firewall is completely disabled in the server box and also it's LAN IP is DMZed to be open to the public as it were.
I'll figure out the firewall/blockage later, right now due to my total lack of experience with EQEmu and my extremely limited vocabulary with which to type in search criteria, I'm lost. I've been typing away trying to get EQE running by myself, by using a shred of common sense and scouring the boards.
Please don't beat me :)

Uh...so what exactly are your 2 problems? Need more info.

I have the compatability/possibly corrupt data base, and the firewall problem.
Right now I'm only interested in ensuring I have the proper database, I'll work on the connectivity once I get that portion nailed down.

You still have yet to explain your problem. What is wrong with your db to make you think it's corrupt. Post error messages etc.

1)What database have you sourced?
2)Post contents of loginserver.ini.

That's the problem; I myself have not "sourced" any databases, unless you mean by "sourced" downloaded and imported. I have tried several.
dumpeditems.sql - 12/7/2003
update-feb-20.sql - 2/29/2004
db.sql - 9/30-2004
I will have to admit that the SQL portion of EQEmu's configuration hasn't been easy for me.

The database "classic" worked, thank you for the guide, will work on the port issues next.
For those of you reading this post, looking for the same thing I was looking for be sure to follow the link in my prior post.

[LoginServer]
#loginserver=FaustRealms.servegame.com
loginserver=newlogin1.eqemulator.net
#loginserver2=eqemulator.net

Error here, 5996 server is gone, should be:
[LoginServer]
#loginserver=FaustRealms.servegame.com
loginserver=newlogin1.eqemulator.net
#loginserver2=eqemulator.net
loginport=5994
Thats why world.exe wont connect to the login server.[/quote]

The proper way to source a database is through command prompt Mysql. "Importing" through mysql-front can cause problems a lot of the time. It isn't very good for importing huge databases like this. It has trouble on raw fields many times. I'd recommend following the guides that explain how to do it via dos prompt.

THe database and login server issues are resolved; now I gotta find the right guide for logging in.
