Login Server Changes Coming

We have finally evolved the login server past what we have been using on the sign up pages. Soon (tm) we will be taking both login servers down for this "update". When this happens, you will be able to change basic things via the Members Login section of http://admin.eqemu.org. When we do change the system, please go and update your email address! If you ever forget your password or username, this is how we will be able to give you your password back (Automagically at that).

Also, new accounts will be setup with a verification email system (much like the forum system here). It will email you a URL to goto and that will turn your account active. A month after the system is changed over to email based authentication, any accounts without a n email will be set inactive (where you cant login to it) and you will need to go setup an email via the Administration webpage I linked above.

does this login thing mean that the new emu is almost out and rdy?

Yep that happened to me when I popped in. (By the way image sorry I didn't know that you didn't want me there until I was kicked lol) Also, the only way I could travel was by...jumping...

Are you bringing them down right now? (May 17). Because just a few minutes ago the login servers worked fine. Now they are down :( . I hope you are updating them, and the **** didn't hit the fan or something ;)

Was just about to test a fix for 1017 error, but now login server seems to be down *sigh*. Any ETA? Or are you going to use the "There is no ETA at this time"(tm) Verant response? :D

Hehe, I did a database server upgrade & a hardware downgrade on login1... I announced it on IRC, since it only was going to take 10 minutes, but I needed to get it done.
