Would it be feasible to run a D&D-like campaign for 5-8 players using EQ Emu? I imagine the game would pretty much be one long GM event, but is it possible?

Yes it will be possible. The problem I could see is the fact that mobs don't roam and questing is not all there. I am actually working on something like this right now. Should be interesting once I get it done. I'll throw it up here when I get it complete.

You know, combined with Malev.'s code, you could do some great stuff on the RPG front.
GM as a mob, using Male's code to command a party of creatures to attack the party..

Yea I already tried it with a bunch of friends ... I repopulated befallen with my own mobs as a starting point .. the story was that they were all kidnapped by the indigo brotherhood and had been moved to a jail (aka befallen). A simple but effective plot ;)
I used a lot of Mal's code with a few modifications of my own : doors+keys, quest npcs (gnome prisoner that would try to forge a bone key from some bone chips), ...
It all worked out pretty well if it wasn't for ..... 'YOU HAVE BEEN DISCONNECTED' ... with 5 clients logged on to my server and all in the same zone this was a major problem ... so better wait for a new emu version or a major computer upgrade :D

Be sure you aren't playing on the same box as your server is on, or it definitely won't work. :)
