I think the reason why you got all these people wanting to know how to run a server is because. They logged on to one of the other sites (winterroar, Fatyes dynasty,etc...) and they came up with a idea on how they could probally run a server even better. I know I thought the same about 1 year ago. I know people are telling them patch to the newest version and WAIT.
Well put your self into their shoes. They are telling them self well how can these other servers be up and running if we can not patch and get it running.
So these people are thinking well how could that be if theres is running. I know I thought about that a couple times my self but I just told my self. I guess they do not want some old servers up.

The way you phrased this is impossible to understand. EQ Emulator is broken, you can't patch yet. Giving people a way to 'backpatch' will get EQEMulator SHUT DOWN ... so saying that they don't want people to play is just an extremely selfish thought, just wait.

So if it is broken then. Then How are the other sites running EQEMU? That I guess is the big question. Or they just never did patch anything?

This is way up there on the most ignorant posts lists. All those servers which remain up at all times have their own patchers or backup directories. If you don't backup your own data do not get upset at the devs or whomever else.

I am not angry at the devs. I am just making the point that some other people made was why are they able to run a server but they themselves tried to setup could not. The DEVS are right. I am waiting for the new patch to come to live. 8-)

I found a solution. Send $500.00 a week to the developers and then you will have a fix, if not then don't complain.
