I used to play EQEmu alot about a year and a half ago. Then I stopped until now, I have forgotten some of my knowledge on how to actualy get EQEmu up and running.

I have herd that there is an EQEmu server running only EQClassic. I was hoping to play on this server or one only running EQClassic/Kunark/Velious. I still have my EQClassic CD, Kunark CD, and Velious CD.

So what I am wondering is if i were to just install EQClassic from the CD, then changed the EQHost file to the EQEmu login server, would i then be able to play on an EQClassic only EQEmu server? I see that patching will break EQEmu, but if i were only to play on the EQClassic server would i need to patch anything at all?

Sounds great. I haven't played EQ in years (because I didn't enjoy the content after velious).

I tried EQEMU about 2 years ago and found that it crashed every few minutes. I know that I'm unable to play now due to EQEMU not being compatible with the latest patch, but I'm just curious with that aside, has it been pretty stable considering?

Also, is there still a decent amount of people playing? Has the EMU servers gotten more popular? Less?
