I want to play it but I don't want to have to be linked to domeone elses server to play a game. If I like the game and in a few years the server is down I'm screwed. Or like everquest they nerf everything so much that it isn't even the same game.
With Guildwars you have to log into thier servers just to see the character select and creation screen :(
Come on community lets have a Guildwards Emu.

Not to kill your hopes and dreams my friend but I doubt it will ever happen since the main aspect of emulators is to make the game you are playing free. And since there are no monthly charges what so ever, there really is no motivation to make such an emulator. Although it could indeed happen, i'm just throwing in my two cents... :)

Not entirely true, a lot of users came to EQEMu because they didn't like what EQ had turned into, the endless expansions and such (A lot of ppl like classic EQ). So its possible for people to hate GuildWars gameplay and then make an emulator.

The reason I want an emu is because I like to collect games and try nost of em out with my friends and family. The ones that keep us playing together for a while will be missed after a few years of not playing. For Example: Starcraft made a comeback in my household, as well R6 Raven Shild and many more. But I don't want to buy a game that everyone will enjoy playing anf then say 10 years from now we feel like getting that old timey feeling from playing it, but you can't play it because the Corporate run servers are no longer there. Now we have a useless client :(
Now if it was like EQEmu... The reason I have been in the scene and helping it all i can is because I know in 1o years I'll be sparking up a server to play on with friends. I would just like that power over Guild Wars as well.

Any online game will be emulated regardless of price. Creating emulators isn't about making a free game (because in all honesty it's just way easier to shell out the $15 a month) but rather to 1. challenge your coding/world building skills and 2. to give yourself control in a situation that normally you are at the mercy of mindless suits who simply don't know what fun is if it bit them in the a*$.
