A friend of mine is kinda frustrated with trying to set up a EQEmulator and is wondering if there's a package out there that is a "all in one" program that's basically a "install and run" program?

What he wants is to have everything up to PoP or better and be able to start off where he left off when he quit EQ last year.

Someone with the know how could put together a installation program like a software and frontend tools needed to make changes in game such as mob placements, changing their AC and how they behave, etc.

Not alot of us know MySQL and other programming tools such as Pearl and such.

Of course if the person chooses to learn coding could also have a frontend to do the coding job if he or she wishes to do the hard tasks after installing everything that he or she needs first.

Yeah, there's alot of dummies out there like myself and my friend, but it sure would help if there was such a premade installation software with all the benefits we need to make life easier for dummies as well as add-on tools to go with the program.

I can see EQEmulator has alot of potential to be better than what it is.

Theres 2 problems I see with this.

1. EQEmulator changes so much so frequently that an all-in-one database front-end would become outdated quickly. And even if someone where to keep it updated for a bit, should that person leave I see it would be outdated. Even if it was open source, I doubt anyone would pick it up.

2. Not everyone is going to be satisfied with an all-in-one GUI.

Just look at EQAdmin. That was the principle of it..but...that got outdated fast after it was discontinued.

Couldn't there be a autoupdater for the program to help it keep up to date with an open source updater?
