do not patch?

hey everyone, i just found out about eqemu today... rad. I have tried to find out as much info as possible, but there is one thing i cant find out.... whats up with the "do not patch"? I heard about some stuff about the new patch not working, but i dont know how old that is. im just starting today, installed eq from some old cds, and then let it do the update. i have the eq:evolution set... should i leave it as is, should i get the update, afterwards, or leave it as is? it didnt seem to work earlier, so i am installing the updates.... am i screwed? how can i get a copy that will work with the servers? i KNOW someone knows... thanks in advance!

Last patch (05/11/2005) break another time eqemu.
Devs need to work another time on compatibility (/comfort). You must wait that.
Ask anything about WAREZ (send eqfiles) or Backpatch (Old patch version) is against Forum RULES (read it : http://www.eqemulator.net/forums/announcement.php?f=586).
