EQEmu Server 6.1 DR1

I have been reading the message boards trying to figure out the proper steps to install 6.1 DR1 with the PEQ database, but I am hella confused. Anyone have the proper steps documented? From what I gather, the peq_velious release works with some flavors of 6.0 DR2 and 6.0 DR3, but now with 6.1 DR1? I just sourced PEQ_Velious and tried to run it with 6.1 DR1 and I got a ton of database errors. Anyone have a simple sql script to update or something?

Also, from what I read, 6.0 DR3 has a very unstable zone.exe, but it is compatible to the PEQ_Velious DB. 6.0 DR2 is pretty stable, but runs only the PEQ_Kunark DB and then needs quite a few SQL script updates. 6.1 DR1 also looks pretty stable, but has no DB ready to go, but I noticed the PEQ Server is running 6.1 DR1 with the velious DB.

Is there a way to run the PEQ_Velious DB on 6.0 DR2?

So, I guess I am also wondering what is the best route now for a new server installation?

I'm bettin that PEQ will release the final Velious DB as 6.1 DR1 compatible. Just my guess. =D

Remember Bel, PEQ isn't a support forum for server setup and installs, just for bug reporting and quest submission for the most part. Your right though, Bel, search button is your friend =).

Its not like I didnt spend all weekend searching my butt off through the forums. Bel, I did see the post you refered to, in fact, I saw it a couple days ago. The problem is from my perspective, having been away from EQEmu for 6 months and then coming back to it, it is difficult to determine what bits of information from many different sources are still relevant to one another and what is just out dated. Right now, from what I gather, the state of EQEmu is one of transition between previous versions of the server and the PEQ DB.

Having spent the weekend trying to figure out what is current in the forums and still not having a working server, I was hoping someone had an easy response. But thanks anyway, I'll keep banging away at it. Eventually, I'll get something to work :-)

I did manage to get both a running server with 6.0 DR2 and the Kunark Database from PEQ. It seems a bit more stable than what I remembered it being 6 to 8 months ago, but I bet that has a lot to do with the database updates that I added to it that have come out since then. I also managed to get a 6.1 DR1 server running, but using a database offered by Cavedude. I haven't really played around much with the 6.1 DR1, but I guess I was wondering what peoples experience with the 6.1 DR1 versus 6.0 DR2. Which of the 2 platforms is overall superior as far as reliability, playability and so on. With the state I have seen 6.0 DR2 in, I don't think I would want to develop my world on 6.1 DR1 unless it was every bit as stable and playable as 6.0 DR2 seems to be.
