I really enjoyed play eq when I could afford it, as well played with eqemu for a bit at the same time. However at the present time having not played for 2 years, I'm looking to play on my pc.

Now here is the problem. I don't have access through the net to patch it so my insall has PoP as the last disk installed, (no hope in patching it). Is it possible to install an older version of eqemu and get it working?

One other thing, having dl'ed the latest version it stated I had to move the db.sql file, but there is no file of that name anywhere.

Unless you get really lucky and have a disk that has the same patch version that is compatible with one of the emulators, there isn't much else you could do. Correct me if I'm wrong but, if you know C++ really well and you understand how packets work and such, you could try and use a packet monitor and try and tweak every single opcode to match those sent by your client. It would be extremely tedious, and pretty difficult because there are so many to match up, but I think it would work. You would also have to create your own loginserver because the patch of your client most likely wouldn't send the correct packets to the login server. =/ I hope my response can be of some use...

I was thinking of just trying to dl an older version of eqemu that came out around the time that PoP did and see if I might be able to jump it (who knows).

Though still don't know why there is no db.sql file, dl'd 6.3 and checked and there is none there.

If you just have the disks installed with no patch there is no compadable version.
