I just setup my accounts today (didn't know that this existed.). So my problem is that my eq is up to date as of the patch yesterday. How do i go about (since no copyrighted materials are allowed to be requested) setting up my everquest so that i can join?
Is a new version of eqemu due out soon?
...
Edit: i found the info i was looking for under the "idiot" support section.. Funny, instead of calling the guy an idiot you might want to just make a sticky that says "If you just installed eq, or are up to date and eqemu doesnt support the latest version then you're SOL"

Why make a sticky new comers will just ignore it just like the big red lettering at the top of the forum.
DO NOT PATCH ON 9/13 OR LATER - 9/13 EQ Patch Breaks 0.6.2 (Which we are freezing on)

In his defense and the defense of the other newbies, maybe the banner should be changed slightly to eliminate version confusion. For example, who cares about compatability issues with 0.6.2 when your downloading and installing a distinctly diffrent version number 0.6.4.
Maybe something along the lines of:
DO NOT PATCH AFTER 9/13. THE CURRENT PATCH IS NOT COMPATABLE WITH ANY VERSION OF EQEMULATOR. IT WILL CRASH AND YOU WILL CRY. IF YOU PATCH THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO TO HELP YOU.
or something to that effect....
maybe similar changes to the players and server wikki.

just a thought.

That would work.. It only really needs to be in the player faq section for the noobs like myself.

Wasn't trying to come off as if i was attacking all newbies. Regardless of what gets posted are reworded there are still going to be newbies that will ignore it (not all will but most will).
as for rewording the top text i see no need as it states what it means. if you patched on 9/13 or after it breaks 6.2. Basically 6.2,6.3,6.4 are all the same but with certain fixes to them which the devs just bumped the version# up. if they were say live compatible they would change the big red letters up top stateing that such version is live comptible. Then they would change it back when an eq live patch breaks it so people know not to patch to live after said date.
