If i download the EQ trilogy from SOE's site is it possible to d/l the files for the more recent expansions even if i do not own that expansion so i can play on emu servers with those expansions?

Yes. The EQLive patcher has that option.

However, EQ Trilogy and EQLive are not compatible with EQEMulator.
