This is weird, I was playing on a server earlier today and had an error and got the message pop-up if I wanted to submit the error data for Sony to work on fixing it. I accidentally pressed yes because I was trying to hit some different buttons to get out of the lock up and enter was one of them. Well, here's where things get kinda twilight zonish. I now try to log in and once I get to the log in screen my mouse locks up and then an error message pops up and says there is a problem with eqgame.exe and it needs to close. So I uninstalled Everquest and reinstalled the Titanium edition and same thing happened once I got all done configuring everything like before. I can't get past this part... I really think it has something to do with me submitting the error data and they musta done something to my computer when that happened. Kinda creepy, watch out for submitting stuff to Sony even on accident.

Now to dispel the tin foil hat myths:

First, if you are playing on an eqemu server and you use the option to send error data, I believe it actually sends the error data to the server that you were connected to. In the case of EQEmu, this would send it to the EQEmu server you were on.

I will point out that SOE has the right to change that at any time in future versions of its client, so I'd advise against using the error-report feature on an eqemu server anyways. Besides, the EQEmu server code doesn't have any support for digesting this info into anything meaningful to the server op.

Second, the report option is a one-way communication of your error data that the client sends as its dying words. The client receives no further instructions after that, and it wouldn't be prudent for the server to try to get the client to do anything, as it's in a very unstable state if it's sending crash data up. The last thing Sony is going to want to do is sabotage its own client and potentially either cost itself resources on a support issue or have somebody stop a subscription due to inability to play (EQLive) any longer.

If you don't have a proper client or eqhost.txt file, this is the source of many eqgame.exe crashes. If you put Titanium on the system, did you refrain from patching afterwards?

So far every single time my client starts throwing the error in eqgame.exe at me when trying to get logged in I did the following to fix it.

Edit your eqclient.ini file and turn on windowed mode.

This should get you logged in all the way in windowed mode.

Before alt-enter'ing back to full screen adjust your screen resolution to the proper setting.

This may not solve your problem, but it has worked for me every single time my client went tits.

Seems for some reason the ini can get messed up and when you log in , EQ attempts to use a full screen resolution not supported by your machine and DX9 pukes about it or something.

Still not sure exactly what caused the problem because it was in windowed mode. However, I figited around with things and after a few reboots and reinstalls I got everything working right again. I guess this one will remain a mystery.
