Anyone willing to give me some help over AIM or YahooIM in setting this up? Screen name is Maverick3n1.
I'm trying to do it with the PEQ files, but not having much luck, as the instructions I'm using at "http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka.php?wakka=WindowsServer70" seem to be lacking info on having the PEQ files working.

oh, and the maps files it wants you to download in the "windows" based help file is a .gz file which is kind of useless in a windows platform, unless there is a compression utility out there that will allow me to unzip it in a 32 bit platform...

You just need WinRaR
http://www.download-zone-free.com/winrar/
Follow this guide as HUNDREDS of others have and you'll get it running..

If you get a Query Failed, just hit refresh , may take a few tries...

I followed the instructions step by step. It didn't state where it wanted me to place the PEQ files in the instructions, and when I ran cavedude's ServerPack 3.52, and it asked if I wanted to use PEQ files and I chose yes, it never asked where they were located. The entire compilation took approx. 30 seconds at most, and then it said everything was completed successfully. I thought that it seemed a bit fast, and it's probably not reading the PEQ files as they are not located where they need to be.
Once I got to this step: "If you used the PEQ databases, Click on "Start" then "Run" and type in "C:\mysql\bin\mysql -u root peq". Now type in " GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON peq.* TO eq@localhost IDENTIFIED BY 'eq' WITH GRANT OPTION; " If you used cavedude's database, replace "peq" with "eq".", it didn't work.
I ran mysql -u root peq and got the following:
ERROR 1049: Unknown database 'peq'
Ever other step I did previous to that ran with no error messages.

This is probably moot, cuz I think I read elsewhere you got this working.
But if the 352 installer pack whizzes by the end without "sourcing" the database, that's likely a creds issue to your MySQL instance. Once I got over that hurdle, I could run the pack anytime and re-source anything I wanted.
If you want the latest PEQ (I think it's 7/16/2006), you'll need to drop all tables (using the supplied drop-*.sql scripts) and re-source from the command line. There's help for how to do that all over these forums and MySQL help sites.
