I was wondering if this is a known bug or its just happening to me. Its been really bad the past 2 days esp on Scars of Nalgora, i cant even log on now because everquest freezes after character select. I have 1500 (estimate) mb of ram so memory shouldnt be my problem. I was wondering if there are any tweaks to fix this problem.

DELETE ANY char names you have made on the server that are in you EQ dir.
C:\EverQuest has one and
C:\EverQuest\userdata has some.
see if that helps.

NO , it will just remake the missing files when you log back in.

when I did that it delete my character, does anyone else have any idea how to fix this problem? If i go to windowed mode it seems that i have a better chance of zoning? Anyone have any ideas
Windowed mode isnt even helping. This is making it impossible to play.
/sigh

Delete your eqclient.ini or eqlsPlayerData.ini (backup first) then log back into a server. It should create a new one for you.
Out of all of the problems having connection issues, the eqclient.ini and eqlsPlayerData.ini are the main culprits since we can't patch to live.
If that doesn't help, you might want to check the official boards for a solution since they pretty much cover all client issues. Just don't go off about connecting to a EMU server, lol. All client issues I've ever had were resolved by doing a search on their forums.

i figured it out. It was because I had shaders enables in advanced graphics.

Interesting. I've had problems with Advanced Lighting in Live, with a pretty decent vid card (6800GT), but never crashing. I'd just get solid poly's a lot until I turned it off.
Shaders, huh? Bummer. Doesn't that make the world look more prettier? :)
