I log on to c like 5 ppl on. Why so little? I would at least expect 100. UO has like over 100 player ran shards and each with over 100 ppl on it.

Lots of people play locally... 2,065 members on the boards means a pretty decent ammount of local players :D

See, if everyone donated 5$ a month, then you could afford to pay 5 full time programmers 60k a year to work on the project...

Oh course, at the point you were being paid for it, it would become a real job, and you would never want to do it again..
So technically, the development of the emu would most likely slow down despite the increase in resources to it.
Then god would disappear in a puff of Logic..
Nevermind me, quoting Douglas Adams and just wasting posts to 500 now..

Hmmm. what do you mean localy??? Dont they all connect to the same login server? If they dont they should =(. Whats a good login server that will give me some servers with at last over 20 ppl on it? I also want a server that looks like the original(like same spawns and buildings and towns and monsters.).

Want in one hand, shit in the other, and see which one fills up first my grandmother use to say...
locally means they are connecting to their own servers using minilogin, not putting it on the net for others to connect to..
Whats a good server? Well, Ero's has been widely considered to be one of the better servrs content wise from what I've heard, but you're not going to find any servers that are just like the original eq game servers..

If you guys EVER profit from this, have a damn good lawyer. Not speaking in ignorance here, this is very real.
Trademark Violations.
Copyright Infringement.
Breach of Contrant.
The Sony v Accolade Supreme Court Case was *very* similar to this. They won. They did not charge, either. But, they did *not* have copyright infringement (We possibly do). They didn't have breach of contract (big part). They did have a trademark violation, though.

that contract has to do with EQLive, and its not a law, it does not apply to us.

Yes it does. If you want to speak with a lawyer, go do so.

It does not matter if the contract pertains to live or emulated servers. The fact is that we all signed the contract..
I am sure that 99% of us will deny the fact we Ever agreed to it, but if it ever came to this in court, they will have our information on-hand.
There are multiple clauses in the contract(s) that pertain to emulation, also. If you want to take it to a PM, feel free.

No, thats why we accept DONATIONS, and we DO NOT charge for it. If you want to give us some money to show your gratitude, please feel free (I think the link is stillup on admin.eqemu.net?). You cannot arrest someone because they got a donation =).

Forced Payments = Bad
Welcoming Donations = Good
